Prison or school?

The modern education system with its rigid structure, control, and emphasis on compliance is increasingly felling like prison. In both schools and prisons, there is a heavy reliance on surveillance, lack of autonomy and punitive discipline.  In this kind of school environment, there is little room for creative expression, independent thought, or critical questioning.
